Description

We are getting a bit of snow all of a sudden and I've never taken a macro shot of snow before... I took my scarf outside, wrapped it around our banister and waited for it to acclimate to it all. Took the picture soon after and this one I like out of the handful or so I took.

What do you think? Let me know, because I really do want to improve.:heart:

Thanks for looking and enjoy folks!

Okay - I'm going to take a shot at this... so here we go.

Snowflakes - I too myself have recently begun to take a few shots at snowflake macros, so I am going to give you more-so the suggestions I've gotten (=

First of all, I LOVE the contrast from the blue and the snowflake. It's stunning and is what pulled me to this photo so much! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

As for the snowflakes themselves, one thing I learned, as I too just did them off a hat concept... one thing I was told, which helped A LOT was to have them branching off of something, this way they sort of pop and don't absorb into the background.

Also, I've learned to try and focus on one or small group of the flakes in Macro. This way you don't get all the out of focus parts and flares from whatever you're using as a background.

I hope some of this helped. I'm no professional, so I can't tell you exactly this or that, but I have learned a bit these past few months and hope to see more of your snowflakes! They are really beautiful! Again, I liked that you centered the clearest of them all right there, so it makes the other parts draw you in rather than your eyes wandering about. Very nice job (=
